Our Logo
He tina ki runga, he tāmore ki raro
In order to flourish above, one must be firmly rooted below
Like all of our trust work so far this has been a real community effort. The logo was initially designed for us by local midwife Amanda Ashcroft who transformed our ideas about the intentions and values of the trust into a beautiful sketch that she gifted to us. This was then turned into a digital drawing by artist Jewelia Howard. The design process was helped along by advice from Finn Scott-Kelly and Arabella Waghorn.
Thank you so much to all who helped us to develop this logo.
Here is what it means to us: The fern frond represents the birthing whānau at the core of our work. The green colour represents new life and growth, the purple colour represents midwives and others who provide professional care for new whānau, the gold represents the love and care of the community as channelled by the work of the trust. As you can see in the design, all these colours surround the birthing whānau in love and care.
