Oxytocin Trust has set up Manaaki Mats out in the community. These can be used by any whānau experiencing baby loss (including babies up to one year of age).
Te Whatu Ora are providing this resource for those experiencing baby loss whilst at Hutt Hospital.
Why use Manaaki Mats?
Manaaki Mats are a simple resource that slow down the natural changes that occur after death by keeping the body cool. Using Manaaki Mats gives whānau choices of how to care for their baby and more time to keep their baby close before burial or cremation. These mats can be used in hospital, at home and during travel.
