Warmth for Hutt babies
Ange Holtslag of Silver Circus, in collaboration with Oxytocin Trust, is facilitating a series of workshops in 2024 to create toasty warm merino layers for newborns in Te Awa Kairangi/the Hutt Valley.
These workshops will run one Sunday a month, from midday till 3pm at the Petone Depot.. There are tasks for everyone, from cutting out patterns and sewing singlets to making cups of tea! See our FB page for the upcoming events.
All workshops in this series are FREE to attend!
All warm merino layers created at these workshops will be used to help fill our Newborn Baby Packs; these packs are distributed by local midwives to those whānau needing a little extra support when their pēpi arrives.
This project is generously funded through a donation to Oxytocin Trust from the estate of Marie Harrington. This project was specially chosen by Marie’s whānau as Marie used to knit for baby packs at her local hospital. We thank Marie and her whānau for their support of the Hutt community.
